2) The rate of change of velocity is the slope of the graph as the cart was rolling freely. It's also relatively constant, which means that the acceleration (which is slope of the velocity vs. time graph) was also constant. This quantity of the rate of change of velocity is acceleration. The significance of the sign of the slope is that it determines which direction the cart was accelerating.
3) The value of the slope and the extent to which the track was elevated had a direct correlation. If the ramp was less sloped, the slope of the line was less negative if the sensor was attached to the cart.
